1. Who We Are

FieldMarshal ("we," "us," "our") provides scheduling, booking, and invoicing software for home service professionals. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and protect your information when you use our service at fieldmarshal.net.

2. Information We Collect

Operator data (tradespeople and business owners):

  • Account info: Name, email address, phone number, and business name when you sign up
  • Billing info: Subscription payment details processed securely through Stripe. We never store raw card numbers.
  • Business data: Job details, schedules, notes, expenses, and other content you enter into the dashboard

Customer/homeowner data (collected during booking and invoicing):

  • Contact info: Name, email address, and phone number
  • Service address: Property address for job scheduling and invoicing purposes
  • Payment info: Payment processed through Stripe, PayPal, or Venmo. We do not store card numbers, PayPal credentials, or Venmo credentials.

Information collected automatically:

  • Usage data: Pages visited, features used, and actions taken within the service
  • Device info: Browser type, operating system, and IP address
  • Cookies: Session cookies for authentication and preferences (see Section 7)

3. How We Use Operator Data

Data from operators (tradespeople and business owners) is used to:

  • Run your dashboard — scheduling, job tracking, invoicing, expenses, and reporting
  • Process your subscription payment and send billing receipts
  • Send account alerts, service updates, and support responses
  • Detect fraud, abuse, and security incidents
  • Improve product features based on usage patterns
  • Comply with legal obligations

4. How We Use Customer/Homeowner Data

Data from homeowners and end customers is used solely to:

  • Process and confirm bookings on behalf of the operator
  • Generate and deliver invoices to the correct address
  • Process payments via Stripe, PayPal, or Venmo
  • Send booking confirmations and payment receipts
  • Enable communication between the homeowner and their operator

Customer data belongs to the operator's account. We process it on their behalf and do not use it for our own marketing or analytics.

5. Payment Processing

We support multiple payment methods. None of them store raw payment credentials on our servers.

  • Stripe: Card payments. Stripe handles PCI compliance on our behalf. See Stripe's Privacy Policy.
  • PayPal: PayPal-based invoice payments. Processed directly through PayPal's platform. We store only the transaction result (paid/unpaid). See PayPal's Privacy Policy.
  • Venmo: Mobile payments via the PayPal/Venmo platform. Same data handling as PayPal above.

We never store card numbers, CVVs, PayPal passwords, or Venmo credentials. Payment data is tokenized and handled entirely by the respective payment provider.

6. Information Sharing

We do not sell your personal information. Period.

We share information only with:

  • Stripe / PayPal / Venmo: To process payments. Each subject to their own privacy policy.
  • Email providers: To send transactional and notification emails on your behalf.
  • Infrastructure providers: Hosting and database services that store your data under our instruction.
  • Legal requirements: If required by law, court order, or to protect our rights and safety.

All third-party providers are contractually obligated to protect your data and use it only as directed by us.

7. Cookies & Analytics

We use two types of cookies:

  • Session cookies: Keep you logged in and remember your preferences. Required for the app to function.
  • Meta Pixel: We use Meta Pixel on our marketing pages to measure the effectiveness of our ad campaigns. This may collect anonymized information about your visit (pages viewed, actions taken) and send it to Meta. You can opt out at facebook.com/privacy.

You can disable cookies in your browser settings. Disabling session cookies will prevent you from logging in to the app.

8. Data Retention & Deletion

We retain your account data for as long as your subscription is active. After cancellation:

  • Your data is retained for 90 days to allow account reactivation
  • After 90 days, your account and associated data are permanently deleted
  • You can request immediate deletion at any time by emailing us

Anonymized usage analytics may be retained indefinitely for product improvement purposes.

9. Your Rights

Depending on your location, you may have rights over your personal data:

  • Access: Request a copy of the data we hold about you
  • Correction: Request correction of inaccurate data
  • Deletion: Request deletion of your account and associated data
  • Portability: Receive your data in a machine-readable format
  • Opt-out: Unsubscribe from marketing emails at any time

10. Security

We implement industry-standard security measures including HTTPS encryption, secure token-based authentication, and regular security reviews. No system is 100% secure — we will notify you promptly if we become aware of a data breach affecting your information.

11. Children's Privacy

FieldMarshal is a business tool intended for adults (18+). We do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 18. If you believe we have inadvertently done so, contact us immediately.

12. Changes to This Policy

We may update this policy periodically. We'll notify you of material changes via email before they take effect. The "last updated" date at the top reflects the most recent revision.
